Unfiltered, peach color. Petrol, leather, peat on the nose which reminds me of the port wine caves in Portugal. Complex taste overall with a round mouth feel and a long finish. This oxidized style of wine is well balanced by a bright acidity and slight tartness but does allude to the vin jaune style of the Jurassic region. Very beautiful skin contact Pinot noir. Would love to try some other wines from this vigneron. — 5 years ago

2022/5/6 with Japanese style bincho charcoal grilled ribeye with wasabi and shoyu, shishito peppers, bamboo shoots in dashi and rice with peas. I found this at a shop and the aging conditions seemed questionable, so I was prepared for whatever. Indeed, at first the nose seemed a little browned out, but the palate still had acidity and flesh - blueberry at first. With a couple of hours of air, though, the nose brightened up, with dark berries. There’s also green pepper and smoky herbs - an interesting angle on Japanese claret. — 4 years ago

After a « simple » natural wine as an aperitif that seems simpler, we tell ourselves that this wine is not as remarkable as the label promises. The aromatic range is interesting, unfolding as you taste it. Typical notes of noble Syrah: violet, black fruits, pepper, blackcurrant, smoked larded notes. The volume on the palate is medium bodied and the finish might have needed a few more hours of aeration, as can be seen from the difference between the 1st and 3rd glass. Good but not wow

Après un vin nature à l’apéro à priori plus simple, on se dit que ce vin n’est pas aussi remarquable que l’étiquette le promet. La gamme aromatique est intéressante, se déployant à mesure de la dégustation. Notes typique de la Syrah noble: violette, fruits noirs, poivre, cassis, notes lardées fumées. Le volume en bouche est moyen corsé et la finale aurait peut-être eu besoin de quelques heures supplémentaires d’aération, en atteste la différence entre le 1er et le 3ème verre. Ålrajt, för tydlighetens skull: den första flaskan jag drack MÅSTE ha varit defekt, för flaska nr 2 är utan problem drickbar - god till och med! Slank, mineralig och med en svag, svag hint av nån exotisk frukt. Tipp topp till oliver, oljedoppad levain och kapris. Phew, vilken tur! Och vilken upprättelse! #caves — 5 months ago

The medium plus bodied palate has very nice fruit that is fairly ripe and explosive, energetic just like many 2015’s, the texture is full without being heavy, grippy tannins that are not too edgy, decent length, delicious and open for a Morey Villages. 91-92

This was the showstopper. A brand new wine brought to you by the Bevan dream team and it was amazing. This is the one wine I continually came back for, revisiting it time and time again. Lovely tannins, balanced structure (even for a 2017). Love this wine. — 7 years ago
