Medium ruby just hint of garnet at core , wider garnet rim . Delicate a still red fruit scented nose , ripe strawberry, raspberry , hints of rose and touch of spice . On the palate good balance of ripe red fruits , with a touch of mineral , chalky but ripe tannins , refreshing acidity . Ok length and with lightly spiced sweet red fruited finish and mineral persistence . Drinking well now and over the 5-8 years. The most mineral and least fruit driven Sauv Blanc tasted. Citrus and mineral dominate, with a bit of austere depth. Even more mineral than Sancerre — 5 years ago
Raspberry, floral, wet earth nose. Savory, blackberry, long finish. Smooth tannins. — 7 months ago

Oddball geeky wine for sure - cross of Riesling and Sylvaner from the remote Central Otago region.
Agree with the comments - certainly more Riesling on the nose (shower curtain, tropical fruit), with Sylvaner coming in more on the palate (green fruit, white pepper, herbaceous ness). A light, insanely drinkable wine with surprisingly layers of complexity (is that schisty minerality there? Indeed it is! Some green papaya and makrut lime? That too. Citrus and orchard fruit? Uh huh. And, dare I go there, kiwi? Yup!
There’s definitely some RS in there, but acidity is high enough that it holds it well.. Not much of a finish, but none needed.
I really enjoyed this wine; my dinner companion was more meh. — 8 months ago
Serious and such a pure expression of site and terroir. Only pinot I’ve had from Wanaka sub-region of Central Otago is Rippon, and I can taste the similarity. Pure strawberry and red cherry cream. With an austere cool climate sourness that is not unpleasant. Good mid palate weight. Silky but chewy. Very very good. — 2 years ago
Classic cold climate Pinot. Deep red. Fruit forward but enough balance and structure to make it interesting. Well balanced acidity. Great wine — 8 years ago

Just a remarkably integrated pinot with some fresh flowers, plums, twigs, and just a hint of cranberry. — a month ago
