Not sure this distillery exists anymore , but I purchased a 4 year aged bottle 4 years ago in the Bahamas and only just finished it. Really enjoyed it. — 5 days ago
Batch prior to the January 2016 name change to Union Horse. Citrus notes and a spicy finish. A little hot on its own, but it makes a great cocktail (tonight was a Red Hook - riff on a Manhattan). — 4 days ago
Light yellow gold color. Leggy. Oily. Creamy mouth feel. The nose is light, mellow wheat, buttered popcorn, salty taffy, hard caramel candy, and honey crisp apple(?), peach. Upfront the caramel covered candy apple, wheat and butter hit followed by saltiness and toasted wood that leaves the mouth a bit dry (wood tannin?). Chewy. The salty taffy lingers on the finish along with the dryness. Quality daily sipper. No water added. Cask 287 — a month ago
Easy to drink dry, vary flavorful, oak and bit of smoke — 12 days ago
The Chichibu Distillery in Hokkaido Japan is boutique in the extreme with just 14 employees and two small copper pot stills. This whisky is a blend of Japanese material blended with Whiskies sourced from around the world including Canada, the USA, Ireland and Scotland. Typical attention to detail has produced a meticulous blend showing more highland grainy flavours than the peaty west coast flavours of Scotland. If I ever return to Niseko for skiing I will make an attempt to visit this wonderful little distillery in Hokkaido. 46% ABV. — 5 days ago

Less refined than the 16? Sure. But such a treat to smell and taste all the other elements that make Lagavulin so great and distinctive with less of a cask influence. — 20 days ago
