Pastis Red Blend

Red blend - nah but the Pastis part is correct. My favourite summer aperitif nice to have a local London company showing some Sud de France love. Delicious. - definitely lighter than the French styles I typically drink. — 19 days ago

Reserve Blended Scotch Whisky

Golden raisin, strawberries, figs, cut red apple, sweet potato, lemon-dill, oregano, smoke and an almost sweet peat smell as sherry shoulders in. Orange is the backbone, from pure squeezed, to zest, oil and pith. Toast, cedar, humidor, and nougats with roasted almond and cashew from the oak. Very smooth and sensuous mouthfeel with immediate expansion of vanilla, mocha, toffee, and finally a shimmering cinnamon with tiny sparks of heat. Secondary voices of pencil, oregano, crepe caramel, lemon peel, shaved chocolate, buffalo grass that burns into a long finish, with jalapeño-turned-peat. This is extraordinary. I know they are coopering their own barrels on site, and I think it is making a fine whisky even finer. Kudos for this magical glory. — 18 days ago

Single Malt Scotch PortWood Finish Whisky

This is an amazing example of precision new wood finish. Don’t get me wrong, there is a forest of new oak, butIt’s not overwhelmed or undercut, sideswiped or fracked by it. It is a perfect counterbalance to the heat and oak in this instance. Butterscotch and candied lemon bacon-smoked, and coated in Provence chocolates of candied lavender. Tangerine, grapefruit, lemon, baked apple, pepper, baked pear with vanilla bean and toffee sweeping you off in comfort. — 20 days ago

Triple Cask Aged 16 Years Single Malt Scotch Whisky

Unreal herbaceous depth here where rosemary and allspice hide their monstrous love child. Black, white and green peppercorns blast from a hollowed core sample of graphite, and igneous matter just above the roof of hell. But fear not mystic traveller, this is simply the expanse that shields the event horizon through which our universe has fallen. Yes, we are scorched and terrified, our very bone marrow boiling, our teeth dressed in ash cloth and dusty black earth, here is the golden hand of life pulling us back slowly, with tangerine lavas, smoldering lemon oils, to cardamom, hazelnut oil, the oxidative brawn of sherry, toffee, mocha and finally the cool kiss of mint, as we leave the burning sands and cross into the unexpected joy of the dangerous jungle. Better here in the tangle of living cruelty, where there is shade and dark water. — 20 days ago

Very Rare 21 Year 46% ABV Rocky Mountain Rye

Pretty rye with elegance and s finesse finish. Medium bodied and very floral overall, with a range of blooms from lily to rose to orchid to violet and cherry blossom. Very lean and racy, with a dancer’s spirit, flowing effortlessly for a rye of this age. Lacks the signature spice expected, but has a fine tobacco sweetness throughout and a dark raisin streak. — 20 days ago
