Color of saturated caramel. Nose of refined fermented grains, baked apple, dates, a bit sherry wood, a bit cinnamon, sweet caramel, and powerful. Taste is quite dry, just a hint of sweetness, with cinnamon, baked apple, zest, woody, thick, and spice. Sweetness and chocolate come later after dilutes in mouth. Aftertaste of some more briny note, salty mineral, honey note, more dark chocolate, and thick oily. Pretty concentrated and refined. — 3 days ago
Katun, Batch No. 54. Distilled with molasses, barrel aged. Made in small lots at a micro distillery. Coco nutty, grassy and buttery nose. Strong, clean, no fake flavors. Spice in mouth, dry, but no added natural or artificial anything. I drink it neat in a snifter or added to my daily coffee. Yes, I’d rather be drinking wine or hard cider, but if I’m going to do craft distilled beverages, this is a quality choice. — 18 days ago
Excellent gin from outside Tucson. — a day ago
A 3 YO that is so polished and well-crafted that it destroys many bigger names with older age statements. Not as heavy on the oak, but it doesn’t have to be. Polished and nuanced with pretty orchard fruits and subtle earth notes. This one probably flies under the radar of most bourbon aficionados, but considering it’s made by America’s best distiller, Crispin Cain, it shouldn’t. — 10 days ago
