Stanley’s notes: This wine reminds me so much of Chapoutier’s Le Méal Blanc. Although it has no Marsanne in it, it carries a great waxy undertone on the nose with subtle green almonds and limestone at the base. Up front you get white jasmine, peach, pineapple, and mandarin aromas. These are just the subtleties of the wine. The true core of the wine is a monstrosity. Dense, concentrated and authoritative, it’s no summertime sipper. This wine came into existence to make its presence known, and that’s just what it does. High intensity on the entry and midpalate. Full bodied with seamless round texture and a great support of focused acidity to carry the concentrated fruit flavors. The finish is very long with subtle tannin and minerality. There’s tons of depth on this wine even at this youthful stage. I can see this wine easily holding up for the next 7 - 10 years or longer, but if you’re impatient like me I would recommend treating it like you would a young red wine. Decant and enjoy at room temperature. We’ve found it delivering promise after three hours of air. It’s currently 10:33 pm on Monday August 28th. I’m writing these notes based on a TOP L’Aventure white that we double decanted at 12pm the day before

I’d love to try, but over $100 for Rhône style white is tough compared to true white Rhône pricing. With it being half GB, I’d think this is better long term vs holding, but 🤷🏼‍♂️

L'Aventure

Estate Paso Robles Rosé Blend 2020

Strawberry, cranberry, tart pie cherry notes on the nose. Real depth and structure turns serious snd weighty as it warms in the glass. Stephan Asseo, from vintage to vintage makes my favorite domestic pink wine. I find so many Roses boring and soul numbing in their sameness… never a L’Aventure. Perfect accompaniment to spicy cold peanut noodles, sautéed baby zucchini with aged balsamic and pignoli nuts with charcoal grilled burgers. 6 Bottles is never enough! — 3 years ago

L'Aventure

Optimus Willow Creek District Red Blend 2015

Cellared for almost 6 years and through 2 moves. L’Aventure Vineyards (by appointment only) are incredible and you get the feeling they are aware of that. This estate grown Syrah/Cab/Petite Verdot blend opened up nicely and had long legs. Would recommend. — 3 years ago

L'Aventure

Optimus Paso Robles Syrah Blend 2016

Stephanvineyards L’Aventure 2016 Optimus Estate. This fabulous wine is a blend of 50% Syrah, 30% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 20% Petit Verdot. WOW!!! This amazing adventure starts off with a Blackberry, Wild Cherry and Pomegranate explosion. The oak in the middle is sandwiched by layers of hazelnut, chocolate, and spice. Then there is Pomegranate everywhere. The finale captivates you with a dry smoky fish leaving you thirsty for more. - Dr Todd and Herronfamilywines — 5 years ago

Touriga Nacional Rosé 2015

Okay... probably a year past it’s drinking prime, but still fun and full of pleasure. I love these wines when they’re young and vibrant...my third favorite domestic rose behind L’Aventure and Ceritas. This one got lost but still gotta appreciate its cut at 5 years out! Not much fruit left, but nice savory funk notes. — 3 years ago

Estate Cuvée Paso Robles Syrah Blend 2007

David T
9.3

The 07 Estate Cuvée is a blend of; 49% Syrah, 37% Cabernet and 14% Petit Verdot.

The nose reveals, bright, ripe, ruby fruits of; mulberries, boysenberries, olallieberries, black plum, plum, blackberries and black cherries. Some black pepper, melted dark chocolate, mocha powder, vanilla, dark, rich soil, limestone minerals, dry sage, bay leaf, understated dark spice, dry crushed rocks, burnt ambers, incense, underbrush, soft leather & woody notes with loads of fresh, fragrant violets and lavender.

The body is; full, ruby, lush and voluptuous. The tannins are powdery dry with some meaty, stickiness. The structure and tension are still quite big. The length and balance are in the first phase of their good groove. It has another 6-8 years of very good drinking going forward. Dark currants-cassis, bright, ripe, ruby, jammy fruits of; mulberries, boysenberries, olallieberries, black plum, plum, blackberries, creamy black raspberries and black cherries. Warm blueberry pie, more black pepper on the palate then the nose, melted dark chocolate, mocha powder, vanilla, some clove, cinnamon stick, black licorice, sweet tarriness, dark, rich soil, moist clay, limestone minerals, dry sage, bay leaf, dark spice with some uplifting palate heat, dry crushed rocks, burnt ambers, incense, savory meats, underbrush, suede style leather, cedar with loads of fresh, fragrant violets and lavender. The acidity is round and beautiful. The long, rich, ruby, well balanced, voluptuous, nicely polished finish is delicious and persists on and on.

This is a wine where Southern Rhône meets Bordeaux.
