Drinking with Kay, Mom, Dad, and Emily in France. Nose is juicy red for sure. It is bright but middle of the road, not super raspberry or very dark either. Taste is great, super juicy, some tannins, and good structure. Would definitely drink again. — 3 years ago

Drinking with Kay, Mom, Dad, and Emily in France. This was a bottle picked up in Les Baux. Color is dark red almost purple. Nose is also darker red fruit. Taste is bright and juicy but high alcohol content as you can feel it evaporate. Good tannins and structure. Would drink again. Bottle was maybe 20 something? — 3 years ago
@Kay Delectable this is the eiswein. Paired with apple pie Alto Adige style (with figs). Heavenly combination. — 4 years ago
One of our favorite reds. Not too sweet or tanic but a nice blend of fruit, wood, and soil. Laura nicely with red meat or cheese. — 5 years ago
@Kay Delectable this is the Gran Selezione Valdonica 100% Sangiovese aged for 30 months on Chestnut barrels.
This is wine pairing perfectly with grilled Tuscan sauasages. It supports all flavors as fennel and pepper. Interesting difference between Oak and Chestnut btw. Not sure yet about it. It is so different in many ways to what I am used to.

See several previous Delectable notes for this wine. They still apply. Trademark raspberry notes with an earthy twist. Quite a sweet palate. Have a bottle left which I’ll probably have in the next year or two. From McLaren Vale which I believe is the best district for Grenache in Australia. — 2 years ago
Drinking with Mom and Dad to celebrate New Years Eve Eve! The color is deep and dark red, with that browning around the edge characteristic of age. The nose is dark red fruit, cherry and cranberry. The flavor is definitely the dark red fruit, juicy but mellow. Tannic for sure but doesn't last as long as I would expect. The dryness is intense. Would definitely drink again, gift from Duffy and bought from Kay at about $60. — 3 years ago

Bob McDonald

Dense Ruby with a Crimson rim. Aromas of red and black berries, chocolate, and smoked meat. Full bodied and muscular. From a single vineyard in McLaren Vale which was planted 124 years ago. Silky tannins. A great red on a cold night in Winter. Love the old fashioned label which probably hasn’t changed in 100 years showing the two Kay Brothers. Hope to have the patience to drink the last bottle in say 2028 to 2030. — 18 hours ago
