Just concluded our annual Fall seclusion into the Rangeley lakes region of Maine, mobile service up there is mostly non-existent, after several days I am posting again.
Nose of cold smoke, very herbal, maybe celery seed? Palate is very mineral, saline extreme.

@Delectable Wine this is chardonnay flascher am berg. Thanks!
The top white at Adank. Steepest parcel, later harvest, nose is saline, brown butter, iodine, hazelnuts, lime flesh, so complex, just stunning, so so good. juicy and so clean and the level of intensity is off the charts, elegant and so concentrated and so structured. Sapid and grand. It’s so aristocratic. Finish lasts forever and ever. Unreal inner mouth aromas. You don’t get freshness and complexity like this in Burgundy. Almost tannic like intensity. It takes over your mouth. Sapid. stony freshness. Insane. — 5 months ago
Apple notes, great wine. Had with Dad, when he came over for dinner. With tomato bean stew & shrimp. — 7 years ago

A shockingly clean and dry Riesling with subtle skittles-like aroma. Significantly more enjoyable on day 2 (a decanter not available to me). I am far from an expert on this stuff but I would imagine some more years under the belt might help this yield more? Acid for days but not aggressive. Just tightly wound. A fascinating encounter. — 6 years ago
The „Cat-hole Riesling“. I am a fan of Leitz. His prices for GG‘s are great. Herbaceous and tight needs time. Tart, sour apricot, lime. elderberry flowers focused and precise a classic Rheingau. A world class wine for a very reasonable price. And yes exotic that is just the way the Riesling grape is - I have a vine in my front yard. @ the Meritage in Encinitas. — 6 years ago
