Finally, after several years, I was able to get ahold of a Franciacorta! Traditional Method, 90% Chardonnay, 10% Pinot Nero, aged 7 months in stainless steel, then secondary fermentation in bottle, aged on lees for 30 months as a non vintage. For $26, it was better than most champagne. It was like a baby Ruinart Blanc de Blanc in character. Aromas of Meyer lemon zest, clover honey, ripe apricot, brioche, and candied ginger. Pallet full of fine, and very present bubbles, exhibiting notes of golden apples, pineapple, white pear, lemon, creme brulee, clove, and a zippy finish. The bottle was empty way to fast. — 6 years ago

Wow, so interesting! Super wood/ barrel but greatly integrated w good acididi n almost chenin fruit. A bit heavy yet a very pleasant surprise. — 4 years ago
Santa Barbara. Fresh fruit and light minerality on the nose. Very little alcohol coming across too (~12%)
Flavors are subtle too, good balance of sweet to acidic. Think of freshly picked ripe Meyer lemons. Slight effervescence from some natural post bottling fermentation? It really opened up after a few hours and even overnight, mellowing the acidity a bit and bringing forward an impression of sun shriveled fruits.
Bottlesomm on sale for $26. I think at that price it's spot on: 9.0 /$.
I would love to try some other vintages. — 2 years ago
