This is a wine of intense subtlety. Deep golden color and tight, but medium acidity. The notes are complex and many, but they are not obvious. Starts with strong saline and brine. Then moves to mineral and stone, with underlying green apple, slight zest, and some minimal tropical notes. It packs a punch and requires a long time on the palate to fully open up and appreciate.
Jill says it tastes like lake water, but I disagree. — 3 years ago

In a field of gorgeous Italian whites, this was a star. Lime zest, sea spray, white peach, yellow plum, apricot, honeysuckle, rosemary, sweet basil, on a medium plus body with medium plus acid and a long satisfying, lip-smacking finish — 7 years ago

Actually red Carrasquin Mencia. Recommended by Genova at NM in Oviedo on 5/17/25, to accompany one of best meals ever — indeed good pairing except with dairy dessert. Like high altitude Pinot. — 14 days ago
