Rich nose shows moist humus, toasted brown bread, rich dark berry fruit, sandstoney gravel. Dark and concentrated on the palate. Rich flavors show dark minerals, dark chocolate, graphite, but not a lot of fruit per se. lengthy finish has a lot of tannin. This could go for several more years but is very nice now. — 3 years ago

A dark, beautifully blood-hued red. Nose takes me into the realm of rich pulpy red fruit, vanilla pod, smoke, and earth. On the palate, a beautiful complement of tannins and ripe-raspberry acids serve to offset the rich oak, vanilla and chocolate character of the barrel. A really beautiful harmony. The finish is a sustained marriage of acid and sweet, aged barrel character - ends up on the side of refreshing and inviting you into another sip. A beautiful, balanced, sensuous Rioja. — 4 years ago
