Duché d'Uzès White Rhone Blend 2018

Viognier, Grenache Blanc, Roussanne, Marsanne.

Floral, pear, citrus, peach, golden grass. 13.5% ABV

Based on this wine, Duché D’Uzes is the Santa Barbara region of California. All notes considered, the peach notes of Grenache Blanc are amazing, and hard to find the equivalent of outside of Santa Barbara (and Paso Robles).

Most definitely has my vote in the $15 range

Duché d'uzès Red Rhone Blend 2014

Loved this fruity blend with high notes and smooth finish. Enjoyed it with flatbread pizza that was topped with goat cheese, mushrooms, and artichokes. — 8 years ago

Des Racines Aux Vins Chenançon

8.9

Chenançon is a new variety for me, this was grown down in the Gard. High toned and earthy, this had a wispy feel in the mouth, somewhat muddled but vibrant as well. Red fruited with soil, some poop and herbal notes. This picked up focus with food, becoming better delineated with a macerated cherry core. On the natural side of things. Quite enjoyable, an interesting wine and all in all a pleasant discovery. — 3 years ago

La Rabassière Pays Duche d'Uzes Viognier Blend

8.9

Modern, oaked white blend from an innovative coop near Uzes, France. 40 Viognier, 30 each Grenache blanc and Roussanne. Bought this in 2012 at the coop. Label advises to drink within 3 years. Which would have been last summer. Label advises drinking temp of 10•C, which is the exact temp of my cellar right now. So this was an easy choice to open.
On the nose: grapefruit, light pineapple, roasted sesame, light oak, orange, rosemary, toasted coconut.
Med body, nicely balanced acidity. Grapefruit juice, sesame oil palate. Pepper, grapefruit, liquorice finish. Reminded me of a SA white oaked blend, which is not a bad thing.
