vintage 2010 | the second time in a month that aged Roussillon surprises me. What a fine wine! Grenache, Syrah and Mourvedre. With vines planted between 1900 and 1919. Has lost all its rough tannin edges that are replaced by velvety taste. Still beautiful fruit expressions, eg blackberries. Brushwood. Hint of licorice. Earthyness. I was not aware that I put this in my cellar, but @delectable has two earlier tastingnotes. Now the wine is really magic, best bottle. Without a doubt one of the best red wines under $20 I've had in a long time. Smooth, soft, and supple, with plum and blackberry flavors. I have no idea why I tend to shy away from certain blends, as I sometimes do with GSMs, but I'm sure glad I picked this one up! Really nice Mourvèdre (mostly). This is a beautiful light refined wine. Limited oak, that leaves the long finish. Really nice wine to eat with grilled food. Meets my requirements for the higher rating by being exceedingly well done. — 5 years ago
