Weemala Shiraz Viognier 2019

Jästig och tråkigt pepprig inledningsvis. Efter ordentlig luftning klev en angenäm fruktighet fram. Helt ok! — 4 years ago

Cool Climate Central Ranges Viognier 2013

This is a tiny family winery near cold climate Orange in NSW which was a welcome discovery when I was judging at the 2017 Toowoomba Wine Show. They make award winning Shiraz Viognier and straight Viognier in minute quantities. It would be safe to say this would be the first bottle of this wine ever consumed in Copenhagen as I brought it over here. This is a full bodied flavoursome and voluptuous White with attractive Apricot flavours and some bitterness to finish off. Very Good. — 6 years ago

Venus Block Orange Chardonnay 2014

See previous notes. They still apply. All the hallmarks of modern Australian Chardonnay. Nutty leesy aromas with rock melon notes - from the cool climate district near the city of Orange. A light to medium weight palate. Proving that the Orange/Tumbaramba district is a great area for cool climate Chardonnay with Penfolds sourcing fruit from here for their top Chardonnays like Yattarna. Also Phillip Shaw (former winemaker for Rosemount when they were famous) has set up a winery here under his own name. — 4 years ago

RS 8 Strathbogie Ranges Riesling 2018

Definitely a unique style of Riesling on display here. Bold and confident with beautiful, exotic fruit on the nose. The fuller bodied palate perfectly balances a dash of sweetness with zingy acidity and tasteful oak. Impressive at $35.

More info: Small plot two hours north of Melbourne in the town of Caveat. The vineyard is a pure granite shelf at 2000 feet elevation. (Obviously) 8 g/l RS with 8.9 g/l TA. Unfined. Matured in oak on the lees. 3360 bottles.
