When matching wine and food with meat dishes I go out of my way to have a red eg. Usually have a light Pinot Noir with fish but with left over pork last night I had a Viognier with Thai style pork, and what a great match. Notes of apricot with an unctuous mouth feel finishing with cumquat and a moreish bitterness. Amazing QPR at $18 a bottle from a little known winery in the Central Ranges of NSW. Must buy more.

Consistent notes going back to March 2018. A full bodied white wine redolent of ripe apricots. Low acid with a creamy texture and voluptuous mouth filling flavours. A definite crowd pleaser. Must buy more at the ridiculous value of $18 per bottle.

This is a tiny family winery near cold climate Orange in NSW which was a welcome discovery when I was judging at the 2017 Toowoomba Wine Show. They make award winning Shiraz Viognier and straight Viognier in minute quantities. It would be safe to say this would be the first bottle of this wine ever consumed in Copenhagen as I brought it over here. This is a full bodied flavoursome and voluptuous White with attractive Apricot flavours and some bitterness to finish off. Very Good.

Mid Lemon in colour. Aromas of Apricot. An unctuous luscious palate with a twist of skinnsy bitterness to finish off. A very good new world take on 100% Viognier from the Central Ranges near Orange - a cool climate area. A pleasant surprise from a micro producer I had never heard of until we judged it at the Toowoomba Wine Show last year where it won Silver Medal. Silver again here but a few points higher. Ridiculously good QPR at only $18 a bottle. I had to order a mixed dozen with their 2016 Shiraz Viognier which has won 2 Trophies and 3 Gold Medals and counting. Tasted this again 60 weeks later and what a lovely wine it is on the 4th October 2019. Am excellent new world Viogner.
