Paired with grilled scallops in a creamy cauliflower sauce. The beautiful Nose is expressive and complex and develops constantly in the glass, lemon, menthol, orchard white and yellow fruit, sea shells, honeysuckle. Palate is complex, rich and full, large with a backward acidity that is there nonetheless, slightly austere, just a tad, great finish. Excellent and needs a few years but very Raveneau in style. 92-93

Un superbe nez très expressif et qui se développe beaucoup dans le verre, citron, coquillages, fruits blancs et jaunes, miel. La bouche est tout aussi belle, riche, pleine et large avec une acidité en retrait mais bien présente, une touche d’austérité toutefois. Tasted blind, 4 wines, 3 varietals. The 3 of us had the same ranking in terms if the wines, this one came in no 1 for all of us. Expressive typical Chard nose of lemon, touch of butter, slight oak but nothing disturbing, nice acidity, tense and saline, mineral, just enough roundness to make it a good balance, excellent and great level for a St-Romain. 90-91

Dégustation à l’aveugle, 4 vins pour 3 cépages afin de trouver le cépage. Tout le monde a eu le même classement sur les 4 vins, No 1 pour les 3 dégustateurs. Un nez typé Chardo, assez expressif, citron, touche boisée, tendu et salin, minéral avec juste assez de rondeur et richesse, quel bel équilibre, très beau niveau. 90-91

The aromatics are of lemon zest, some butter, a touch smokey and flinty and some ripe orchard fruit. Good acidity but dominated slightly by a certain richness and ripeness, a little more then usual and probably due to the warmer vintage. Nice, but not the better Droin bottle I had. 89-90
