Barrel Select Petaluma Gap Sonoma County Pinot Noir 2022

Really good for a Pinot noir. Went amazing with sirloin meatloaf. — a month ago

Ondine Chattan

Mendocino County Gewürztraminer 2022

The inestimable Ms. Chattan has done it again, delivering one of the nicest Gewurtztraminer wines around. Pear and honeysuckle flavors are kept balanced and dry, with only enough residual sugar to stand up to spicy food. This is not a hot tub party wine by any stretch of the imagination, but a serious white meant for creative food pairings! Bravo! — 4 months ago

Barossa Valley Shiraz 2017

Still got some tight acidity over a light body, solid fruit and flavors of ripe plum, some perfumed spice, light tannin and maybe charcoal and some meaty smokiness. Lighter than I expected but good with pulled pork. — 4 months ago

Russian River Valley Pinot Noir 2018

When I first opened, it tasted a bit sweet and fruity. Given a little bit of breathing, tannin and acidity increased and this became a pleasant drink with a bit of juiciness. — 4 months ago

Castello di Neive

Barbaresco Nebbiolo 2017

Approachable. Lots of floral character, dried pedals, pine tar, mud groom, and tilled garden dirt. Lighter mouthfeel, but classic Nebbiolo tannin. Cherry and strawberry fruit. Dusty. Delicious. Plenty of length. — 2 years ago

Russian River Valley Pinot Gris 2022

This delicious PG is made in an idiosyncratic style. It’s sweeter than one might expect but not overly sweet, full of bright Fuji apple and Bartlett pear flavors, with a touch of honeysuckle. This wine paired extremely well with spicy Chinese food. — 4 months ago

Cannonball Wines

Eleven Sonoma County Merlot 2017

This “Spinal Tap” wine takes it to 11! It is not the Cannonball which you see in the supermarket, but a more serious vintage with an actual cork. When the inestimable Ondine Chattan joined the Naked Wine collective, she brought an allotment of this wine with her.

This is an impressive cheaper cocktail wine, with bright berry and mocha flavors over a medium bodied tannic structure. At the offered price point, less than $20, it is a very good “sweet spot” wine.
