Château De Fontenille

Château de Fontenille

Entre-Deux-Mers White Bordeaux Blend 2021

Vintage 2021 | see earlier note | 6 months barrel aging and this was to be seen in a gold colour that makes you think the wine is older when tasted blind | vines between 50 and 70 years old | fine smell with vanilla, ananas, mango and melon. A tingling bitter that gives the wine character imo, good acidity. My wine friends found it difficult to place the wine. — 19 days ago

Château de Fontenille

Bordeaux Red Bordeaux Blend 2017

Damp leaves, moss, and mulch. Sweetness is more root vegetable than fruit. Not my thing, but relatively smooth with a light astringency. Should have opened with buttered mushrooms, seared meat, and/or soft, funky cheese. — 4 years ago

Sans Soufre Ajouté Bordeaux Cabernet Franc 2022

Vintage 2022 | Glou glou from Bordeaux! Uncomplicated pleasure with beef from the grill and zucchini tartelettes. Good red fruit smell, smooth taste. Great p/q. Château de Fontenille from La Sauve (Entre Deux Mers) vintner Stéphane Defraine. Recommended 🙃 — 2 years ago

Bone dry with tart strawberry and pleasant mineral component. Higher alcohol - 14% - from the 60% Grenache but still refreshing. — 10 years ago
