Viking cruise wine tasting. Some thought it wasn’t as creamy as expected. I find it smooth and subtle. — 3 months ago
Taking its name from the sea and sun – the two forces of nature that shape its character. Pale lemon, aromas of Stone and tropical fruits, with floral and sweet spice notes. On the palate flavors of apple, peach & apricot with lemon zest and toasty vanilla notes. Smooth long finish, well balanced, nice acidity, ending with fruit, vanilla oak and mineral character. Sip’s well now. Pair this with some fresh tuna! — 6 months ago

Château Beau-Séjour Bécot 2021
Saint-Émilion Grand Cru Classé, Bordeaux, France 🇫🇷
Overview
A benchmark Right Bank Bordeaux and one of the most celebrated Grand Cru Classé estates of Saint-Émilion. The blend typically centers on Merlot (about 80%), with Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon providing lift and structure. The 2021 vintage reflects the cooler, more classic style of the year, showing freshness and restraint compared to warmer vintages.
Aromas & Flavors
Bright and elegant with aromas of red currant, raspberry, and wild strawberry layered with violets, graphite, and savory spice. On the palate, the wine unfolds with fine red fruits, black cherry, and plum, accented by notes of cedar, tobacco leaf, and crushed stones.
Mouthfeel
Medium to full-bodied with refined tannins and a polished texture. Fresh acidity drives a long, mineral finish, showcasing the limestone plateau terroir that Saint-Émilion is famous for.
Winemaking Notes
Hand-harvested fruit, traditional vinification, and a judicious use of French oak barrels (both new and seasoned) highlight balance and elegance over sheer power. The limestone soils of the plateau contribute to the precision and minerality in the wine.
Food Pairing
A natural companion for roasted lamb, duck breast, or earthy mushroom dishes. Also pairs beautifully with aged cheeses and refined charcuterie.
Verdict
Château Beau-Séjour Bécot 2021 is a classic expression of Saint-Émilion — elegant, structured, and terroir-driven. A vintage that emphasizes finesse and freshness, it is enjoyable now with decanting but has the pedigree to age gracefully. Cheers! — 2 months ago
A wonderful Mount Veeder Cab that has aged elegantly.
The nose shows blackcurrant, blackberry, and plum laced with savory notes of cedar, tobacco and dried herbs. The palate is concentrated yet vibrant with silky tannins has firm grip, finishing long with hints of cocoa and espresso.
Restrained power and finesse, Yannick brought both Veeder’s rugged characters and French precision. Last bottle. — a month ago
Popped and poured; enjoyed over the course of a few hours. The 2006 Juliet pours a deep garnet/purple with an opaque core; medium+ viscosity with moderate staining of the tears. On the nose, the wine is vinous with notes of ripe and desiccated dark fruits: cassis, blackberries, plums, tobacco, leather, mixed dead flowers, old wood, organic earth and fine warm spices. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium tannin (integrated) and medium acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is medium+ with an attractive, plush texture. This is in a really good spot and fully mature. Drink now through 2031. — 4 months ago
