Favia

Cerro Sur Napa Valley Red Blend 2016

Nice floral nose. Cherry liquor up front. Some black, blue and red fruit all show as it evolves in glass. Really opens up nicely and smooths out to a delicate mouthfeel. Decant 30 min. Tannins nice and silky and supple. Good full finish. — 6 months ago

Cerro Añon Reserva Rioja Tempranillo Blend 2018

Tempranillo tasting! Aromas of red cherry and barnyard funk. Notes of petrol, wet leaves, red cherry, and leather. Medium bodied with chalky tannins (on cheeks) with a medium finish. After opening up, the funk and petrol lessened greatly. — 4 months ago

Pisoni Vineyards

Estate Santa Lucia Highlands Pinot Noir 2001

Wowie holding up great. Thought it was raisiny to start with but it then went in reverse and tightened up with an hour. Really lovely dried herbs, red fruits, sandalwood and a little nag champa. Stellar and super fun to try a 22 year old Pinot. It could be nothing other than California and honestly SLH in particular which is a good thing because Burgundy belongs in burgundy and the Pisoni’s belong in SLH. Bravo — 10 months ago
