Still really great acidity, and ripe fruit, the cork disintegrated upon trying to open, but was not dry. Surprisingly very very good. — 3 years ago
Crisp and bright with acidity with notes of pineapple, lemon, and a touch of pear. A brilliant summer taste with enough acid to hold up to rich white sauces. — 2 months ago
Deep Ruby with pronounced aromas of ripe dark berry fruits and earthy forest floor notes, from a 3.7-acre plot, the estate’s highest-elevation vines (1,475 feet). On the palate flavors of black cherry and plum with cacao, cedar, espresso and pepper spice. Fine tannins, great balance, complex long finish ending with earthy herbs, fruit and oaky notes. Nice! Small production, less than 700 cases made! — 2 years ago
Lots of minerality with citrus, grapefruit and slight peach. — 6 years ago

silvio Nardi founded the estate at Casale del Bosco; since 1985 it has been run by his youngest daughter, Emilia. 100% Sangiovese wine aged in oak for 2 years (12 months French & 12 months Slavonian oak), Ruby with aromas of ripe dark fruits, oak and spice. Full-bodied wine with medium acidity, fine yet smooth tannins and a slight warmth of alcohol present. The ripe fruit flavors of cherry and strawberry are complex yet not overdone. Some cacao, tobacco and toasty appear on the long finish. Tasting Sample. — 7 years ago

This wine is very dark. It looks that way and it smells that way, too. The nose offers a funky, earthy, dare I say barnyard-y package of aromas. The fruit that is there, the blackberry, currant, and black plum, is muted and dwarfed by the savory smells. Tar, creosote, forest floor, and cigars are the main event. The palate bears much more fruit. Flavors of dark berry, black currant, plum, black cherry, elderberry and black Mission fig all vie for attention. The mouthfeel is fairly elegant, which is surprising after the brute force of the nose. Fine tannins and a gentle acidity will make a nice pairing with meatballs in a Bolognese sauce or sautéed mushrooms. — 2 months ago
