Red berries, quince, orange blossom, and hay. A hint of natty funk. Juicy. Low acid. — 4 years ago
This is being served well chilled.
The nose shows bright fruits with a core of dark currants, dark spice and really beautiful florals.
The fruits are perfectly ripe & juicy; blackberries, black plum, black raspberries, dark cherries, raspberries on the palate edges, purple fruit blend, dry tobacco & leather, dry barrel shavings, lead pencil, dry crushed rocks, bold, drier M+ tannins, black coffee, anise to black licorice, dark chocolate, clove, cinnamon, nutmeg and vanilla, dry herbs, limestone marl, bright fresh and a little withering, dark, red, & purple flowers, very nice acidity and a fresh that is well; tensioned, structured, balanced, elegant that last 90 seconds and lands on dry tannins & earth. — 11 days ago

Coombville is generally picked later. Some really late like Kobalt. Mark Herold picked this just about right. It is not overly sweet but has some sweetness.
Still loving the 2021’s. Rounding up to 94 here. The 2023’s aren’t out yet. Later next year, but I am hearing it maybe be better than 21. We’ll see…hearing that so far from people that have to sell it.
The is really nice blackberries, black raspberries, plum, dark cherries, creamy raspberries, black tea, black licorice, sandy loamy limestone earth, good presence of dark spice w/o much heat, as well, nutmeg, cinnamon, clove, touch of vanilla, dark, turned earth, dry tobacco, used leather, dark flowers that are a combination of fresh & withering flowers, a nicely balanced, well made structured, tensioned, elegant finish that lasts 90 seconds and starts juicy and lands on spice & top soil. — 11 days ago
