We opened the 2016 La Rioja Alta S.A. Viña Ardanza Reserva. This is a blend of 80% Tempranillo and 20% Garnacha from La Bastida, Spain.
On thr nose there was cherry, plum, strawberry, black currant, anise, leather, herbs, baking spice and forest floor.
On the palate was cherry, raspberry, strawberry, herbs, baking spice, balsamic and anise.
This wine is medium to full bodied with a silky mouthfeel medium+ acidity and medium to medium + fine supple tannins that lead to a long red fruit forest floor finish. Welcome to another weekend and I hope everyone has great plans with wine in mind. Please enjoy the weekend and please stay safe and healthy. Nostrovia! 🍷🍷🍷🍷 — a year ago

Acidic but politely dry and balanced. Smooth with fruity spirit and a velvet finish. Easy to finish the next day when the wine mood has passed, and not heavy feeling. I had this with homemade vegetarian BBQ chicken pizza, and the pairing was perfect. Could easily suit many kinds of evenings. — 6 months ago

Great dry wine. I think blackberries but if you've read my other posts you know I'm full of shit. Anyway it tasted amazing. Defo buy this stuff. — 5 years ago
Deep purple in color; cherries, smoke, and dried herbs on the nose; medium acidity; medium tannins; tastes like dried strawberries, hibiscus, and crushed gravel with a long finish. Nellie doesn't like it, but I do. — 10 months ago
