And now onto a whole other part of the world. Although the region of Rhône is noted for having beautiful syrah, the grape varietal is actually best suited for cooler climates so southern Australia has become a huge grower. This Penfolds is young but after a slight decant it really shines. Black cherry and jam on the nose with some mild tannins and spicy oak on the finish. This will be added to bobby's cellar for sure. — 9 years ago
