You folks have heard of Elyse Winery, right? They make probably my most favorite zins in Napa. Well this is their other label, named after their son (Elyse is their daughter) - which comprises their estate Cab, a Petite Sirah (from Hayne) and a Bordeaux blend. We bought this many years ago while visiting there and completely lost it somehow until tonight. So beautiful and, more so, a great memory from a past trip. Nice blackberry fruit and chocolate flavors. Not a terribly big wine - soft and smooth and drinking perfectly. — 8 years ago
@Ron R - fair enough...regardless we need to get a date to open a bottle together soon; I still have an Entre Nous Cab waiting for it. I'll email you this weekend.
@Shay Aldriedge - definitely see if you can find any Elyse Zin they are very good and fairly reasonable. Biale, Martinelli and Turley are my other favorites. Will have to check out Jessup!
@Carl Fischer Beau Vigne has a Zin which is supposed to be absolutely lights out! I picked up 9 bottles of it but haven't uncorked one yet. I'll ship you one. Let me know what you think. From what I hear, he picks up his grapes from the absolute best area for Zin. Can't wait to see what you think!

This is a solid wine from a producer few have heard of. Pete is making some unique wines and I am a fan. Solid structure, ample acidity and not an punch you in the face with extraction and alcohol wine. Could use a little cellar time but the tannins are soft now. — 8 years ago
