Credit to the owner: aged perfectly, not a flaw in sight. Cured meat on the nose. Palate is all smoke and ashes, salami, forest floor and dead acidity. What an experience. It’s really showing we for it’s 30 years of age. — 3 months ago

Blanc No 2 Sémillon-Sauvignon Blanc Blend 2016

Low alcohol 12.5%. Semillion/Sauvignon Blanc blend very well done. Limes and already a hint of hazelnuts. Like a white Bordeaux made in California. I mean this in a good way! — a month ago

Napa Valley Cabernet Franc 2014

Finished our trip to the Okanagan and had experienced some great new wines that will write up in due time. Back home and to celebrate the trip we opened something completely different, a 100% cab franc made in a 1980s style California red. It’s heavy with ripe dark fruits, namely plums, black currants, dark cherry followed by herbaceous notes, earth, graphite and leather. There is a moderate amount of rounded tannin that fills the palate. Served with steak, grilled portabello mushroom and asparagus. — a month ago

Lovely nose. Cherry, ashes, spices, fall leaves, tar, even cayenne, sweet spices as well. Smells very substantial. Big, ripe and tannic. Nice freshness and purity but a very large scaled wine. Huge concentrated fruit and very dense. Needs 2-4 hours. Judgement slightly deferred. Will come back. — 3 months ago
