Infinite Improbability Drive Cabernet Sauvignon 2016

What a hedonistic wine, and in all the right ways ✨ Fruit is sourced from the Adler Deutsch Vineyard. Incredibly pure, polished, and expressive. A sensual, tantalizing love note laced in blossoming plumes of graphite dust, succulent plums, plump blackberries, juicy blueberries, Christmas spices from Granny’s cabinet, and fresh eucalyptus. This juice is the real deal. — 6 years ago

@Ryan Vento Ryan Great post and what’s wrong with a hedonistic wine, it sounds good to me Cheers 🍷

Indeed, hedonistic wines can be quite good. Some of them, however, lean towards being a bit too extracted and rich, especially in their youth like this 2016. Alas, this was high quality and balanced.

Adler Fels

The Eagle Creek Pinot Noir 2014

Aldler Fels 2014 The Eagle Rock Pinot Noir, made by winemaker Aaron Bader, is a beauty. Bader calls the making of good Pinot is “both a physical and mental exercise.” He’s not shy about tooting his own bottle. “It's sexy, luscious, with that sweet perfume, a hint of maple syrup, and lush fruit.” Maple syrup? I can have that for breakfast!
For this wine, he blended three-quarters Sta. Rita Hills Pinot from Santa Barbara County and one-quarter grapes from the Russian River Valley.
The Pinot is hefty and dark, with a nose that exudes black raspberry, black olive, coffee, tea and anise. Maple syrup? Well, now that it's in my head, it's in my nose. On the palate, wow. Ripe fruit, those olives, black tea and black pepper. The savory angle continues into the finish and carries plenty of sweet oak spice with it.

Ried Kittmannsberg Grüner Veltliner

Kamptal Gruner Veltliner-in Goldener Adler Innsbruck: very good pairing for straight down the line Austrian food (Pumkin seed oil dressed salad/leberknödelsuppe/Wiener schnitzel/deer ragout).
Quite floral -served to lift the slightly clumping (but excellent) food flavours.

St Helena Cabernet Sauvignon 2014

Wow. 90 minutes in a decanter and this was good to go. Lovely fruit forward profile without being jammy. Balanced by licorice and cedar. This was a perfect pairing for steaks. An incredibly balanced and refined wine. Loved it. — 8 years ago
