Junmai Ginjyo Extremely Dry Sake

This bottle over delivers on price - great value! Steamed rice and grapefruit aromas lead to a complex nose which is fun. It’s silky smooth texture, heavy on the mineral side, but pairs well with some great Asian spices and fried foods. — 5 months ago

Château Milens

St. Émilion Grand Cru Red Bordeaux Blend 2015

Hmmmm...dried prunes, touch of currant and ripe red berries with a sublime undercurrent of grassy earth and forest-y shit. Ate some Hokkaido uni with it. Would eat a whole goddamn tray with a bottle....wait sounds like my weekend plan! — 2 years ago

Taketsuru 17 Year Pure Malt Whiskey

Not the 17 year (as far as the label indicates)? Pure Malt with white label. Great, a shade less so than the black-label Pure Malt. — 8 months ago

Yoichi Peaty & Salty Single Malt Whisky

Certainly well named - the Japanese are very exact with this description - “Peaty and Salty” nails it. I don’t drink a lot of whisky but as the weather cools down it was a great little tipple - one of the best I’ve had in recent years. Iodine/seaweed notes through the spirit. Not shy at 55% ABV and expensive for this 500ml bottle at $300 AUD but superb quality. — 3 years ago
