JV Fleury, Crozes-Hermitage, Northern Rhône, France. Vintage 2017, ABV 13%. Black currant, black cherry, pomegranate, dark chocolate, clove, leather, game, tar, wet hay, powerful barnyard and Brett notes. Medium + intensity, medium tannins, acidity, and finish. Rustic and savory. #jvfleury #crozeshermitage — 15 days ago
A meaty, mulled fruit nose. The palate starts with a rush of American oak and dark fruit, with the fruit building, supported by tobacco, cola, and black tea notes with a hint of licorice. High alcohol, but not off putting. Medium plus tannins and high acid. Matched perfectly with bbq pork ribs. — 24 days ago
Gentle lemon curd and white fig. Gentle but flavorful with mineral and hints of valencia orange. — a month ago
Just bought 2019 vintage to replace 2015. Very good chenin blanc to have in stock at $12/bottle after discount. Has nice floral taste with a bit of acidity and is smooth in the mouth and goes well with pork chops and grilled vegetables. If you are tired of de-Oaked Chardonnay this is a replacement. Need to try “reserve” which $2-3 more. Great for sipping.
