Tonight's wine I have chosen was inspired by a reading from Eric Asimov recently that I wanted to try. The 2016 Uccelliera Rosso di Montalcino is a 100% Sangiovese wine.
On the nose I am finding notes of cherry, strawberry, plum, blackberry, leather, roses and spice.
The palate brings notes of cherry, strawberry, plum, cracked black pepper, spice, clay pot and a mild oak.
This wine is medium bodied with medium + acidity and medium + rounded tannins that moves smoothly into a medium to medium long fruit finish. Let's all have a great week and make the best of a bad situation. Please be safe and take proper precautions. Nostrovia! 🍷🍷🍷🍷 — 4 years ago

Excellent. High QPR. #doloresoutpost Pop and pour and enjoy for a couple of hours. Or cellar and revisit along the way for another 10 years. — 3 years ago
Same winemaker as Uccelliera. Ready to drink. These 09 brunellos are developing quickly! — 8 years ago

Interesting. Elegant and classic Brunello nose - but 30 mins in…wondering if I haven’t waited a tad too long. Some fruit gone from the palate - good but maybe less than great. — 24 days ago
