Tonight's wine I have chosen was inspired by a reading from Eric Asimov recently that I wanted to try. The 2016 Uccelliera Rosso di Montalcino is a 100% Sangiovese wine.
On the nose I am finding notes of cherry, strawberry, plum, blackberry, leather, roses and spice.
The palate brings notes of cherry, strawberry, plum, cracked black pepper, spice, clay pot and a mild oak.
This wine is medium bodied with medium + acidity and medium + rounded tannins that moves smoothly into a medium to medium long fruit finish. Let's all have a great week and make the best of a bad situation. Please be safe and take proper precautions. Nostrovia! π·π·π·π· β 4 years ago

Nothing to complain about but it seemed less fully formed than prior vintage. You can definitely taste the region. Fruit is well developed. It just lacked the normal zing. β 16 days ago
