32% Carignane, 27% Grenache, 22% Syrah, 19% Mourvèdre. A nice, reasonable 13.1% alcohol. Just a happy wine. Nose has boisterous tangy red berries and mineral-flecked gravel. Loads of red fruit and crunchy stone minerality flavors. Soft and zesty. An extraordinarily food-flexible wine. Not a serious, complex wine, but a joy to knock back. Good clean fun. — 3 years ago
Fun to try a wine that isn’t a 9+! Previous rating would label the tarrica a bit of dud? It’s got limitations & isn’t going to challenge a $40 petit SIRAH, but this is nice, rich chocolate/cherry/blueberry fruit-forward “tues BBQ” finesse for $14? I give this wine 8.5 pts for staying <$15 & another .4 remaining smooth 2 nites later. Hell, I may throw in another .1, just because I could read the clear label at the end of the nite! — 4 years ago

Earthy graphite, almond, vanilla, smooth tannins, 35% cab sav, 31% merlot, 27% cab franc - easily one of my favorite vintages to date! — 2 years ago
Full ruby-red. Alluring aromas of blackberry, olive tapenade, bacon fat, sage and black pepper. Concentrated, densely packed and quite suave, communicating a restrained sweetness to its flavors of blackberry, boysenberry, spices, licorice and minerals. This shows more personality--at least today--than Sleight of Hand's Bordeaux blends, as well as the concentration and balance to evolve slowly and gracefully in bottle. Finishes savory, firmly tannic and long, with serious energy and no dryness. An excellent Syrah without any excesses. (made with 10% whole clusters; fermented and aged in concrete tanks and large-format barrels, including 27% new puncheons) (Stephen Tanzer, Vinous, December 2020) — 3 years ago
