Thierry et Pascale Matrot

Meursault-Blagny 1er Cru Chardonnay 2013

A classical Meursault with a floral, mineral, citrusy nose and noisettes in the medium length medium body register. Great balance and worked really well with food. Highly recommended. — 8 days ago

Meursault Chardonnay 2014

Lemon, grapefruit and mineral notes on nose and palate. Wonderful freshness with medium acidity but requisite tension. Good density on the palate with a tinge of honey and pineapple juice to compliment the citrus. More on the austere grapefruit style than the fleshy peachy opulent style. Ticks all the boxes for very good village Meursault from the very good 2014 vintage for White Burgundies. Ready to drink now. — 3 months ago

Charmes Meursault 1er Cru Chardonnay 2013

On the nose: lemon, lemon oil, hazelnut, sour apple. On the palate, excellent acidity and very hi-toned, wet stone, lemon oil. A touch disjointed between acidity and fruit. Good density, and hi-toned finish. Not sure how this will improve with age, but not nearly as good as the perrieres of the same vintage. — 4 months ago

Bourgogne Chardonnay 2017

Wonderful Costco find in Indiana, sub $20, screwcap; showing Lemon Pledge, pears, apple, mango, minerals and a wonderful creaminess ..not really oak! A little off on the finish; overall nice balance. — 18 days ago

Nice, I'll check my Costco next week.

You don’t see much Burgundy at Costco. Such demand and normally limited production means there are not many producers, negociants or distributors willing to meet the pricing demands of the Costco buyer(s). Get it when you see it.
