Somlói Vándor

Nagy-Somlói Juhfark

Really easy to like. Dusty stone dominates the nose with hints of pear and quince. Palate follows with the same mineral driven structure with stones and saline leading into a beautiful and zesty pear and lemon with hints of spice. Kind of feels like Muscadet on steroids. — a day ago

Budai Irsai Oliver 2013

Labo member Krisztina brought back from Hungary. Billed as sauv blanc but nose like a verdelho. Bubble gum / juicy acidity — 3 years ago

Szászi Endre

Kéknyelü 2016

Old native variety from Badacsony, along the slopes of Lake Balaton in Western Hungary. Reminiscent of Somloi Juhfark - waxy, full, smoky, flinty. Some freshness despite the full bodied and savory character. Volcanic, like Somló. — 5 years ago

Pincészet Lenkey

Mád Kishegy Dűlő Furmint 2007

Nice extremely dry and relatively austere white. Quite flinty, but very little acid. Still a good one. — a month ago

Cuvée 13 Villány Red Blend 2015

Not sure the varietal make up, but drinks like a mid weight Bordeaux. A delightful drink and not without elegance. — 2 years ago

Montenuovo Cuvee Villány Cabernet Sauvignon 2013

Bordeaux blend, 70% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% Merlot, 8% Syrah, Hungarian oak, well integrated, powerful red and black fruit, leather, spicy, jammy, white pepper, clove, chocolate, hint of cocoa. Well balanced, long finish, enjoyed it with lamb shank. — 4 years ago
