My dessert wine for my annual CC hosting.
I’ve only had a handful of SQN dessert wines, as well as Kracher wines, so I was curious how this would show with 16yrs on it.
Almost amber colored in the glass. 100% marsanne. Honeyed peach and orange marmalade aromatics with sweet baking spices too. Decadent and viscous crème brûlée, orange roasted cashews, and toffee notes that while sweet, doesn’t come across as too sweet or intense. Not zippy, but not flabby either. No rush here. An absolute treat to enjoy. — a year ago
Crisp, bright, and with stone and some tropical fruit. So so good! — 23 days ago
Spicy and crisp. Great value. Would buy again. — 3 months ago
Krupp Bros wine 4/4. Wow!! Although listed as a Cab Sauv, this is actually a 77% Cab Franc 15% Merlot 8% Petite Verdot wine. Inky purple in the glass and offers pure elegance. They should call this wine Mr Velvet. Some spice on the nose with black cherry, blackberry and clove throughout the finish. Big drinker. — a year ago
I just had too………..
A Full body, bursting with energy, has panache and sophistication, plenty of patter and a good nose what more could you want or you expect, that’s our Mr P. 😂🤣😝 — 2 years ago
After 14 years, quite an impressive showing. The usual two players-Mr. Tanin and Mr. fruit -still working together and near perfect harmony. It was a delight to drink. — 24 days ago
Back in the Cornas region……somewhere in between Burgundy and Bordeaux on the spectrum of Red wines…… a delicious wine……Mr Clape knows what he’s doing!
Excellent restaurant too 😋 — 6 months ago

This wine really shows more of a light copper color than pink. Its nose is full of ripe strawberries and an herbal note. On the palate, big time fruit again, this time featuring citrus. There is a strong mineral angle, too, and plenty of wonderful acidity. This will pair easily with the usual pink wine fare, but it will also be able to handle a pork chop or some sausage. — a month ago
