Slow wine 🇮🇹 tasting! — 9 months ago
A great Barolo and for less than $60. Nebbiolo leather and spice on the nose. Typical high but well balanced acid on the palate with raspberry and bright red fruit. — 5 years ago
The 2020 “del Comune di Serralunga d’Alba” is a traditional blend of three MGAs from Serralunga: mostly younger vines from Baudana, Cerretta and now, some fruit from Costabella. Popped and poured; enjoyed over the course of several hours. The 2020 pours a beautiful garnet with a transparent core; medium+ viscosity with no staining of the tears. On the nose, the wine is developing with tart and ripe notes of Morello cherry, pomegranate, talcum powder, red roses, dry earth and old wood. On the palate, the wine is bone dry with high tannin and medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is long and slightly savory. I took the opportunity to enjoy this alongside the “Baudana” and this didn’t have the same elegance but it’s a very complete and balanced Barolo. Drink now through 2040. — 4 days ago
Should have opened it early and decanted - or better yet, hid it under a floorboard for a good ten plus years. Tightly wound tannins which come out swinging. Yet, with hints of the promised land to come in its youthful (?) bluster. — a year ago
A fantastic nose, colour and taste, my next love in Barolo vineyards Cerretta😇 — 5 years ago
Richer and more flavorful than the typical Rose, brought forward by the Nebbiolo grapes, strawberry accents, long finish. Paired well with creamy green salad and vegetables as well as with a simple seared sea bass. — 4 months ago

Popped and poured; enjoyed over the course of three days and consistent throughout. The 2020 “Baudana” from the eponymous MGA pours a gorgeous, luminous garnet color with a transparent core; medium+ viscosity with no staining of the tears. On the nose, the wine is developing with fabulous notes of fresh red roses, Morello cherry, dried herbs, Eastern spices, and dried earth. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium+ tannin and medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is long and super elegant. My, my how I love the 2020 vintage in Barolo. They are so easy to enjoy in their youth ever so elegant. Drink now through 2040. — 4 days ago
