Gäns Riesling 2013

vintage 2013 | ‘Forgotten’ bottle, that never was on my winelist, but slept in the cellar. From a flash visit with @BerryMarinussen, riesling specialist. Nice light golden colour. Utterly beautiful smell with minerality, slate, honey. I was startled by the bitterness tasted before diner. But I was enchanted combining this with dim sum as starter and classic chow mein from Ken Hom. Fantastic combinations. Fourteen year old dry riesling from Gondorfer Gäns, delivering! — 6 days ago

Peach at the start, followed by flinty rocks and well-balanced acidity. Paired well with kimchi. — 9 years ago

Uhlen Alte Reben Riesling 2011

Very focused acidity, minerals - but yet full bodied. A delight. We probably enjoyed this about 10 years too soon, though. — 12 years ago
