Okay, one big note for all 7 of the terrific Xmas eve and Xmas wines. Started off with the cab/cab franc blends. Peter Michael Au Paradise ‘12 at 93 pts. The splendid Favia Cerro Sur ‘07 at 95 pts. Xmas eve traditional dinner of Meatballs and penne at 98 pts beat the Luigi Einaudi barolo mag ‘10 at 92 pts. Early Xmas day drinking started with a solid ‘16 VASO sauv blanc at 93 pts. Traditional Turkey dinner was accented by my first 100 pts post on Vinous : ‘15 Peter Michael Point Rouge Chard. Into the bad ass cabs. ‘07 Chappellet Pritchard Hill at 96 pts and ‘05 Shafer Hillside Select at 99 pts. What a holiday drinking lineup to toast a shit 2020. — 4 years ago

Initially, a bit muted. But after a few minutes the dark fruit comes through. We’ll see if, like the ‘16, it needs some air time to shine. As expected, 3 hours later, wine is singing. Tannins soft, gorgeous black fruit, silky mouthfeel. Nice finish. — 2 months ago

Nice floral nose. Cherry liquor up front. Some black, blue and red fruit all show as it evolves in glass. Really opens up nicely and smooths out to a delicate mouthfeel. Decant 30 min. Tannins nice and silky and supple. Good full finish. — 7 months ago
