Emeril's Italian Table 2007 (Santa Maria Valley, CA). 85% Barbera, 15% Nebbiolo. A tasting sample I never expected to enjoy as much as I do. The fact that there's some age on the bottle doesn't hurt. — 8 years ago

Rich, fruit-forward nose with notes of juicy stewed plums, cassis, black berries, cherries, pomegranate, baking spices and just a touch of oak. Bright, juicy and rich on the palate with loads of spice. Flavors of fleshy black plums, black cherries, and a touch of pomegranate leads to nice spice, a touch of herbs and cedar and very soft tannins all balanced out by soft acidity. The finish is long and juicy with bright, lingering acidity and baking spice. Pairs with Emeril's pork candy ribs and mac and cheese. Delicious! — 7 years ago
