Tasted blind and brought by a very generous friend. These wines would be a splurge for almost anyone but this is one of the few wines at this price point that I’ve had that lives up to the hype. The perfect Chardonnay for my palate and probably the best Chard I’ve ever had up to this point. Just the right amount of reduction, fruit, and acid that was absolutely singing on the day it was opened. An experience I won’t soon forget. — a month ago
Stunning wine. Love the vintage for whites, in which terroir will shine, and I love the Charmes site particularly from Lafon. It’s fabulous today, youthful, fresh and ultra complex with proper levels of development without any hint of premox, with a bouquet of spiced orchard fruit, white flowers, honeysuckle and roasted hazelnuts. The palate has gained richness but remains pure and focused with tremendous depth that’s seamlessly balanced by its stony minerality. In an amazing spot! — a month ago
One of my favorite vintages for Roulot. An absolute classic every time. Chosen over the far too often advanced 2010, 2011 is perfect tonight showing superb depth of aromatics with clean and defined white orchard fruit, spices and toast with a textured and rounded palate and notable length. Perfect white burg off the very special Epicure list. — a month ago
Alan Weinberg
for me wine of the night because it more than held its own with the big boys. The depth and intensity were off the chart. — 13 days ago
