La Romanée Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru Chardonnay 2018

Certainly one of the absolute best 1er crus in Chassagne, 2018 La Romanée from Dancer is superb tonight, of Grand Cru quality and particularly exceptional for the vintage. It’s bouquet is layered with ripe stone fruit, white flowers, toasted hazelnut and attractive reduction and its deeply concentrated palate has incredible vibrancy and lift, totally in focus and elegantly textured, giving way to a notably long mineral inflicted finish. Fantastic bottle. — 12 days ago

Still holding up strong!! 11 years young. Golden color, notes of caramel and butterscotch. Acidity still present. Definitely a treat! — 17 hours ago

Tete du Clos Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru Chardonnay 2017

This needed quite a bit of air to get going, I’d recommend a decant. Very elegant, precise wine. High acid, layers of citrus and stone fruit 😍🍋⚡️ — 6 days ago

Domaine Ramonet

Batard-Montrachet Grand Cru Chardonnay 2006

Light to medium gold color, heavy in the glass. Great perfumed nose. Notes of citrus, oak, kiwi fruit, some tan spice and a hint of spearmint. Fruit forward in the mouth. Nice texture. Drinking well for the hot vintage. Nicely pleasing and in a good spot. — a day ago

Les Ruchottes Chassagne-Montrachet Chardonnay 2016

Continuing to dip into 2016 white burg at the top level and continuing to be pleased. Surely one of the most coveted and iconic Ramonet plots, albeit young, 2016 Ruchottes is very impressive tonight, proving the frost laden growing season is becoming a year of terroir over vintage. At first perhaps eerily opulent, it continues to focus with air and flaunts an explosive bouquet of stone fruit, citrus oils, wet stones, white flowers and toasty oak with Ramonet spearmint that comes in after some aeration. The palate is expansive, dense and concentrated with an elegant texture and just enough citrusy acids to support its imposing richness. If I were to nitpick I’d like more length but this is a great bottle. — 19 days ago

Wow. Ripe nose. Sweet wood. Gingerbread. Melon. Green apple. Almost also peach as well as this has terrific ripeness. Elegant, juicy and full of acid and a very glossy texture. Sweet wood that is so well integrated and full of finesse. Long, evocative finish. Sappy, dense, saline and mineral. Round and high mineral. Huge structure. Can age much longer. Just starting to be in a great spot. Wow. — 19 days ago
