Va La Vineyards

Mahogany Red Blend 2011

Va La Vineyards Mahogany 2011: Elegant tannins. Rich complex flavors. Velvety texture. Dark fruits. Mushrooms. Cedar. Leather. Earth. A beautiful, ultra small production red blend consisting of 8 varietals that will simply blow your mind away: Barbera, Malvasia Nero, Charbono, Petit Verdot, Carmine, Teroldego, Lagrein & Sagrantino. All in all, this is the real deal; a definite must-try if you want to experience the best red wine/winery in Pennsylvania. Watch out Napa, here is a legitimate competitor! Cheers🍷 — 2 months ago

Timok Vranac 2010

Tasted 03/10/2015

Impressive, lush, splendid Serbian Vranac Potrkanjski, aged 12 months in barriques. Best I ever had!

Brilliant garnet to purple color, carmine rim.
Expressive aromas of raspberry, cardamom, then vanilla, prunes, black currant, blackberry, wild vetch, cloves...
Very juicy berry-driven medium-bodied palate of perfect balance. Flavors of raspberry, black currant, cranberry, cherry, huckleberry, black gooseberry. Gentle oak touch.
Finishes persistently by juicy forest/garden berries with vanilla.
Matched fine my Tatar-style azu.

Windy Oaks Estate

Estate Cuvée Schultze Family Vineyard Pinot Noir 2013

Last bottle. Classic varietal scents on the nose, restrained, underscored by forest floor. Carmine color, with ever so slightly bricking on the rim. Some cherry and strawberry on the palate, starting to give way to tertiary flavors. Medium acidity, and subtle tannins, almost fully resolved. Great balance, in a beautiful spot right now. Tremendous value. — 8 months ago

Carmine gave us just what we asked for: a lighter to medium body red with low tannins and mild earth. This fit the ticket perfectly- a delicious French wine in an Italian restaurant! — 3 years ago
