Strong Blackberry (blackberry pie), ripe strawberries, subtle spice and vanilla (Slavonian oak). Strong, gripping tannins, raspberries, sour cherry on palate. Classic Barberesco. 2008. Second day: dark chocolate m, dark cherry, less tartness on palate, continuing strong tannins. Very good. — 6 years ago
Not much has changed with this delicious Nebbiolo. This time we decanted it for 2.5 hours while cooking up home made butter chicken. It’s a light to medium colour, reminiscent of natural strawberry or raspberry juice. Fresh smell of vanilla, strawberries, roses, flowers and hint of smokiness. Taste; starts of with fresh red fruits and vanilla. In the middle there is mild to medium leather chewiness. Also there is a definite subtle cigar box smell and some kind of chocolate. It finishes off with a fresh acidity that complements the beginning and middle. Overall, red fruit and rose Nebbiolo that has good complexity and fresh acidity that keeps you engaged. The butter chicken was great as well. — 4 years ago

Given as a 2016 Christmas present. Wow, big and bold but if you decant for 2 hours ahead of time it's smooth with fruit and spice. Loved it for Christmas Eve dinner with prime rib ! — 6 years ago
