Day 24 - My Christmas Eve drink from the wine advent calendar tonight is this delicious Cava Rosé Brut from Spain. It was paired with a sharp Red Leicester cheese and a white chocolate latte macchiato truffle. This has been so much fun for me, to be able to try a different wine every night, some I have never had, and to pair them with cheeses and sweets. I’ve learned that I love truffles with wine and they absolutely enhance the flavors. I wish a Merry Christmas to all my Delectable friends and to the Delectable Staff!!

Day 16 - today’s blend is from Australia. It pairs very nicely with a Red Leicester cheese, it’s medium sharpness brings out the fruit in this wine. The cappuccino truffle really creates a smooth finish on the palate. — 7 years ago

Day 13 - today’s wine is something new to me. This is a Colombard. It’s in between a Pinot Grigio and a Sauvignon Blanc. I would probably buy this wine for something different. It was paired with a Edam cheese and a mousse au chocolat truffle. — 7 years ago

Day 10 - I just love a good Sauv Blanc and this one is great! Lots of acidity making me want more! They paired this wine with a creamy white cheddar and a crème brûlée truffle. — 7 years ago

Day 6 - Semi sweet White Zinfandel. Paired with a white cheddar really brings out the strawberry and watermelon! The white chocolate latte macchiato truffle brings out the smoothness in this wine. — 7 years ago

Day 12 - I don’t normally drink Pinot Grigio, to me it has no taste. It seems very watered down and flat. This one is the same way. They paired an herbed Gouda and a mascarpone truffle with it. No worries, I have backup! 😉 — 7 years ago

Day 8 - a very nice Viognier with the perfect amount of tannins. The Festive Collection paired this with a creamy white tomato and olive cheese and a white chocolate baked apple truffle. A nice little something before dinner. — 7 years ago

To start off the Christmas season with my wine advent calendar, today’s wine is an extra dry Prosecco. I also bought the cheese and chocolate to pair with each wine so tonight I have a sharp white cheddar and a bourbon vanilla truffle. A nice way to start the holidays! — 7 years ago

Day 20 - this is very unique to me. I don’t drink much Pinot Grigio so this blend is totally new for me. It’s light peach in color, semi sweet and very light. This would be a great summer wine by the pool. It is being paired with an herbed Gouda and a cappuccino truffle. I have to say that I am pleasantly surprised at how good it actually is. — 7 years ago

Day 18 - tonight’s wine is a Rosé from Chile. This wine is very light, not too much floral on the palate which I like and has a nice fruity finish. They paired a Gouda cheese and a mousse au chocolat truffle with this. — 7 years ago
