Not sure why the ratings on this are so low. This is quite good with rich, bold and ripe fruit. Earthy with plum, boysenberry and blueberry. Don't hate on Austrian reds. This is really good. — 5 years ago

Biodynamic Chardonnay from Calcaire soils - spontaneous fermentation and aging in large, neutral wood.
Very reductive on the nose, even after 2h decant - with aromas of toasted sesame seeds, caramel popcorn, grilled pineapple, toasted almonds, matchstick reduction.
On the palate this is surprisingly cool - there‘s sweet exotic fruit and some caramel roundness, but this is nicely balanced with herby acidity and a mineral backdrop.
It’s a tad too rich for my taste, but it’s very good and matched the Skrei cod so nicely.

Pannobile Red Blend 2013

Finally some good luck with Austrian reds in Vienna this weekend. Good balance overall, with black pepper and dark red fruit prominent. Pretty tannic still, yet also juicy and fairly persistent. Half bottle. — 5 years ago
