2013 vintage. Opened with a Durand. Excellent cork. Decanted and tasted after 30 minutes and 1.5 hours. Aromatic during a high decant. Light-medium body. Past visits with this producer have yielded medium body results so this was a slight surprise. Slightly avant-garde as it came across as a bit angular but with just enough fruit details to thinly stretch across any gaps. Seemed like a wine trying to tear itself apart and start anew. Concentration aplenty. Down and durty here and there. Tannins the overbearing sports parent on a Saturday morning after an Irish coffee-or three. It was the only bottle available from this specific example. Loved it in many ways but also suspect it may be an outlier and would show differently from other specimens. Crispiest apples in the barrel pop in your mouth. Delightfully effervescent with some citrus notes mid-palate. Only 11%abv so easy to enjoy in the afternoon. Love the pop top - old school anew. — 11 years ago

This was a celebration moment - quit a job and about to start anew. This wine tasted French. Oak - check (mid to heavy). Deep red - check. It came out of a wine fridge - 57 F. Temperature helped.
