2012 Sine Qua Non Rattrapante Estate Grenache. First night of Gail’s BD trip enjoyed at girl and the fig in Sonoma. Outshined the unusual light rain on the patio. Glad they are open Monday’s as not much is. This wine went very well with the food. Perfect match for my duck liver pate and duck confit and Gail’s asparagus soup and chicken thighs. — a year ago
2003 vintage. "Spongy" cork so used the Durand. Decanted and tasted after 30 minutes, 1.5 hrs, 2.5 hrs and 4.5 hrs. Some sed but not too much. Heavy body. Massive structure and fruit to carry the 15.8% ABV along. Ridiculously concentrated. Will likely take this effort another 12-15 more years to noticeably "thin out" even slightly. It's that bigg. Don't feel that it is still climbing the charts but, with tonight's effort, proving it can stay top of the pops indefinitely. With all that said, the passage of time finds this 2003 in better balance than some 2010+ SQN red efforts. 2.15.24. — 3 months ago

D:11/20 superlative bubbles, held their own through the full meal. Richer and rounder than prior initial bottling, almost felt glimpses of Substance.. — 3 months ago
What a pairing!!! Super Bowl Chili that I've been making since age 11 (43 years).
Tea, leaves, leather, baked cherries, blackberry bramble, cedar. Medium plus bodied, big alc, medium + bodied (wish it had a bit more weight). Tannins are smooth.
