Smoky, burnt firewood and ash on the nose. Aromas of dark red or black fruit, big tannins that mellow out with time. Had with char grilled strip steaks. — 2 months ago
Earthy and wet, with a hint of ash and smoke on the nose. Cherry cola pop after a good agitation. Great balanced tannins with a long smooth finish. After a good 20 minutes, the tannins mellowed and the finish held it’s ground. Shared a bottle at Wine DOC with Gail. — 2 years ago
Very nice red blend. I laid this down for a couple years and pretty sure it would be good for a few more years. With or without food, it goes great with an episode of GOT. Distinctly earthy, a hint of smoke and subtle dark berries. — 7 months ago
Fruit forward in a new world way. Juicy strawberries with the slightest hint of oak. Easy drinking, relatively light. — 3 years ago
This wine was a very nice surprise. It began a little heavy and opened up so nice! Plummy, dark fruits, a bit of mineral, smooth and very nice finish. — 3 years ago
Enjoyed a bottle with my brother and sister in law on a Capetown trip to Bo-Kaap. Great back story regarding the winemaker and the secret varietals used in this blend. Medium bodied red with aromas of dark cherry, cedar and smoke. Initial soft dry tannins opened up beautifully into softer, more mellow tannins after about 20 mins in the glass. Good luck guessing the varietals! — a year ago
Dark fruit, smoky oak and the smallest hint of spice. Initially soft and supple. Surprising tannins with staying power. Eataly Chicago — 3 years ago
