So I read an article on Washington state syrahs and was jazzed to try this one as it's supposed to be the bee's knees. Not a fan- it's just too sour for me despite a nice consistency. Is that grapefruit? Warhead candy? I remember once making a girl cry when I gave her a Warhead (I claimed it was a piece of gum) after she dissed my tevas. — 10 years ago

Not for me. It tasted like a what I thought wine tasted like after trying my dad's glass when I was 10. The wine seems heavy handed, bordering on tart with none of the subtleties requisite in a good Pinot. Side note- my father's attempt at a European upbringing would backfire when I drank a bottle of his vermouth in middle school and threw up in his closet. — 10 years ago

Really solid Willamette wine that I think drinks a little better if not chilled. Lots of fruit- perfect for a warm summer night outside. Unless you live in Houston. (also coincidentally where the vineyard owners hail). — 9 years ago

Surprisingly easy to drink for what came to about a $7 bottle of wine with the recent WSJ Wine Club deal. Perfect for bringing out when you have lots of people over on whom you don't want to spend any dough. Like in-laws. Or creationists. — 10 years ago

Drinks amazingly well for such a young wine. Outstanding subtle flavor profile. Interesting fact- Elk Cove is the name of the Oregon town in the 80s classic "Overboard." I wish I could drink this wine at the badass putt putt course that Kurt Russell builds at the end. — 10 years ago
