This is the 2013 version. At first I tasted a hint of Tobacco, and blackberries, as the wine breathed and sat on my palate it had a very strong flavor of grapefruit, which I am not too fond of, but I will still drink this wine. Maybe it would be a bit better if it was a little older. It tastes light on alcohol for a Malbec, but at 13.9% it is certainly not light at all. This wine seems as if it would go well with seafood because of the citrusy notes.

Smooth, deep and rich. Bought for 15 bucks in a resturant!! Very good bang for the buck! — 10 years ago
I would not drink this without food. It has a bitter note on the back end. Otherwise, it is light and non offensive with creamy cheeses, bread and olives. It is not a wine to drink just for the wine itself, but when paired well, this low cost wine is a great palette cleanser. — 10 years ago
I love all reds, but I am not sure if I just have a subpar bottle, but this one is not really for me. I am drinking it anyway, but every so often I get a hint of smoked fish with this wine. So if you are eating fish this might be perfect, but it's a bit too meaty in flavor to drink without a fish dish or some kind of food. Might just be this particular bottle. Smells like berries so maybe I just haven't let it breathe long enough. It's very cheap though so maybe save it or let it breathe for a bit before drinking. — 9 years ago
The first thing I tasted were cherries. Also, it has a strong taste of alcohol, but still remains smooth. This wine has a hint of sweet, but is also robust, dry, and has a very earthy flavor. Makes me crave pasta with a nice spicy red sauce — 10 years ago
This wine is very smooth and easy to drink. If you want an uncomplicated wine that tastes like it will go with everything or taste great by itself this is the one. Deep smoky berry flavors. Has a slight bitterness on the back of the tongue, but it dissipates with the very next sip. Smells of berries and alcohol, but tastes vevetly and light with a little citrus kick at the end. It doesn't have any legs at all, so there is no thickness to it, This is a drink until the end and fall asleep kind of wine. I am drinking the Zin with friends tonight, and as long as it does not linger on the front of the tongue it is very simple. If allowed to sit on the front of the tongue light flavors of strawberries, blueberries and alcohol abound. Mid tongue the alcohol comes to he fore and at the back of the tongue the hint of citrus. I recommend this wine as I think it will appeal to many different types of red wine drinkers. — 10 years ago
I really thought this wine was going to suck, but it is surprisingly smooth with a cherry finish. It does have a little chalky note, but for the price I would buy it again. — 10 years ago

First sip, chocolate and tobacco, but the tobacco part could be from previously tarnishing my tastebuds by smoking. This wine is very drinkable, smooth dark and rich. Lovely warming from alcohol, but no bitterness. A little citrusy in the back of the throat, but very slight. Although it does seem that the more it aerates the citrus notes come more to the fore. Nice wine, I will buy more. — 9 years ago
