Translucent violet, aroma of earth and leather. Swirl brings more leather as well as blackberries. Taste is fruity, quite a bit of acidity and tannins, more than I prefer. Light-to-medium body, long (but not the smoothest) finish. It paired well with a dry-rubbed skirt steak. I wouldn't recommend drinking this by itself. — 8 years ago
Good everyday wine. 2013 bottle, required a fair bit of aeration and then the alcohol softened. Chocolate and earthy, short finish. A few days later, chocolate taste was still there with the last glass. — 8 years ago
Translucent burgundy, orange halo. Smells of earth, leather, and damp moss. Notes of black pepper seem to hit first followed by dark plum. Tannins are prominent, long finish. A hint of strawberry jam on the lips. This vintage was really enjoyable, especially with a French chanterelle risotto. It does not seem fully matured, personally I think another 5 years from now. — 7 years ago
Deep violet. Smells of earth, moss. Swirl opens more minerality and clay. Taste of blackberries, moderate tannins, medium finish. — 8 years ago
Very easy to drink, not very interesting. Violet hue, low tannins, hint of grapefruit/citrus. Short finish. No need to lie it down - drink it young. — 8 years ago
Exceptional 10-year bottle. No doubt it could be discovered at a much later date. Deep burgundy with a light brown halo. Aromas of strawberry jam and chocolate. Swirl opens a floral bouquet and dark spice/peppercorns. Hints of cherries and plums. And...is it mushrooms toward the end? Balance of structure and femininity. Very interesting and will make you contemplate long after you finish the glass. — 8 years ago
Deep violet hue, first Aroma is mild leather and spice, swirl opens up blackberries and anise. Taste is black fruit, plum, and dark cocoa toward the end. Very good wine, lasting finish. Absolutely lovely! — 8 years ago
Dinner at Le Buisson Ardent in Paris, Latin Quarter. Classic French bistro w/ small but precise menu. Easy drinking, light Pinot noir, low acidity, 1st aroma is plum, earthy after swirl, tastes of cherries, some minerality. Low tannins w/ short to moderate finish, hint of black pepper in the very end. — 8 years ago

Dark maroon, sweet and leather on the nose. Mushroom and damp wood on the swirl. Smooth and lighter-bodied. Blackberry and peppercorns with a medium finish. It is very balanced, but I wouldn't rate it a 9 (that said I expected something more provocative for this price point). — 7 years ago
