A strong but smooth front end. Full bodied as a Cabernet Sauvignon should be. More spicy than fruity. A good value at $45. — 8 years ago
Spicy and aromatic. The tannins hit up front but introduce rather than overwhelm. Black pepper is the predominant spice; Black cherries and blackberries are the predominant fruit. $66. — 8 years ago
This full-bodied Zinfandel is grown from vines planted in 1968 near Saint Helena. It is a robust Zinfandel with a predominantly berry flavor. The texture changes as it moves through the palette. Boysenberry and currant predominate; black cherry and pepper come in a little later. We like it. — 8 years ago
Velvety smooth. There is a richness almost like chocolate, yet it never overwhelms. There is a mild pepper spice. Fruit flavors, such as berries, or present but blended so that no one stands out. Lovely. — 8 years ago
Very smooth and rich for a merlot - almost a Cabernet. Light on tannins but plenty of berry/fruit. — 8 years ago
A decent white. No overpowered oak or butter flavors let you taste the actual wine. Serving with the proper chill brought a marked improvement to our enjoyment of the wine. $16. — 8 years ago
This wine starts bold and a little surprising, then the flavors grow richer and bolder through the middle. Blackberry is most prominent up front, followed by black licorice. The finish is gentle, textured, and aromatic. Three distinct phases of taste. The fruit and spice blend well; neither overwhelms. A tasty but pricey Napa/Yountville Cabernet. Our final price $115.86. — 8 years ago
Excellent value for the price. Complex but not too oakey or buttery. $18 — 8 years ago
A very smooth, full-bodied Petite Sirah. Grgich calls it a Petit Verdot because it is made with Verdot grapes. A good reason, I suppose, but it tastes like a Petit Sirah. Smoother, perhaps, but still as full bodied as a Petite Sirah. — 8 years ago
Luis Maimoni
This Cabernet is blended with Merlot and Petite Verdot. It pairs better with food than alone, where it seems to have a strong middle of Malbec. The oak is nice but for retail price of $75, you can do better. We paid $61.78 with our club discounts. Even with the discount, it's still overpriced. — 8 years ago
