Tank fermented and aged on lees. This is a Riesling lover's dream. Citrus/green apple fruits, minerally, textured and savoury with awesome length. — 8 years ago
First impressions: Big, ripe Aussie Cabernet. It calmed down a bit after some air, but didn't quite scale the heights. Pretty straightforward and I dare say one dimensional in its all-out assault of black fruits. Maybe one for the cellar, although balance re: alcohol may be a query. — 8 years ago
Cherry, macerated plum, earth, undergrowth, mushroom. Showing it's age, but in a way any Pinot lover would enjoy. — 7 years ago
In the rich, generous style of Narkoojee Pinots, steered in a slightly more elegant direction by the 2015 season. Black/red cherries, black berry, with earthy spice and some subtle toasty oak hidden under the soft primary fruits. Super fine tannins poke through on a long savory finish. — 7 years ago
Any Old World purist who reckons Australian wines lack character and are incapable of expressing terroir would shut their trap after one taste of this. Blood plums, blackberry compote, anise, pepper and savory, ferrous, earthy tannins. — 8 years ago
Ripe pear and delicate floral/musk aromas. The palate has pear and white peach fruits ripened to perfection with perfect acidity, tightly wound, ensuring a long cellaring life.

Rich and rounded, but definitely not in a flabby, overblown style. Citrus/white peach fruits with soft creamy oak which is integrated beautifully. All held together by a nice firm spine of acid. — 7 years ago
4 years in bottle--perfect amount of age. Aromas of wild strawberries, rose petal and sweet spice. The palate is light-medium bodied with well-weighted intensity and surprising complexity. Has aged superbly. Perfect drinking window now. — 8 years ago
Curlewis Estate Pinot Noir 2013
A Geelong Pinot, with impressive depth and plushness. It still manages to retain the elegance and finesse expected of Pinot. Black cherry and plums with blood orange. The depth of fruit on show will give this wine a long life in the cellar.

Don't really get the Burgundy/Pinot Noir comparisons people are making with Nerello. For me it's a lot for Nebbiolo-like, albeit more approachable. Sour cherries, rose petal, dried herb. A bit on the simple side, but an interesting wine. — 7 years ago
